Bystanders can make two decisions when witnessing a bullying incident: they can add to the tragedy OR play a key role in preventing or diffusing the situation. Bystanders can instigate, encourage, join in or be passive, thereby adding to the ordeal. Alternatively, they can intervene or get help, thereby saving someone else from harm.
