Research has shown that bystanders are present in up to 85% of school bullying. When they simply observe a bullying incident, they empower the bully who thinks they have the crowd on their side. The fact is, most young people are uncomfortable with bullying and they simply don’t know what to do. Research has also shown that when a bystander intervenes, they have an effect.
